How does the subscription add-on work?
This optional add-on lets your business sell paid memberships to your customers. Customers pay you a recurring fee for benefits you choose, such as included products, member discounts, or exclusive offers.
Two payments, two different purposes
- You pay us for the software: Grow is $99 per month per location. The membership feature adds a separate monthly fee, starting at $49 for up to 49 subscribed members.
- Your customers pay your business: You choose the membership price and the benefits. The add-on fee is not the amount your customers pay to join.
You are paying for membership management: recurring billing, renewals, cancellations, member eligibility, and tracking or applying membership benefits. We agree on the payment integration and benefit rules with you before launch. Payment processing charges are separate from the software fees.
A real-world example: Morning Cup Coffee Club
Imagine a coffee shop offering a $25 monthly membership with four regular coffees each month and 10% off pastries. A customer joins through the app, their membership renews each month, and the app tracks their available coffees and applies their member benefits when they order.
Here is an illustrative month with one location and 40 paying members:
| Item | Calculation | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Membership revenue your shop collects | 40 members × $25 | $1,000 |
| Grow software fee | 1 location | $99 |
| Membership add-on fee | 0–49 members | $49 |
| Total monthly software fees | Grow + add-on | $148 |
The $1,000 is your shop’s revenue, not profit. Ingredients, cups, staff, payment processing, software fees, and other business expenses still need to be covered. This example is not a forecast of your results. Consider whether members would otherwise have purchased the same products at full price.
Why offer a membership?
Recurring payments can make income more predictable. Paid-for perks give customers a reason to return, and visits may lead to additional purchases. Customers benefit when the perks are worth the membership price; your business benefits when the price covers your costs and supports repeat business.
How does the fee change as you grow?
At 50 members, the add-on moves to $99 per month, bringing software fees for one location to $198 per month. The six tiers above show the add-on fee for each member range.
Do you need this add-on?
Only if you want to sell paid memberships. A free loyalty program, such as “buy nine coffees, get the tenth free,” rewards purchases without charging a recurring membership fee. If you only need ordering, payments, and standard loyalty features, leave this optional membership add-on off. Your Grow monthly service, required launch payment, ordering fee, and processing fees still apply.
Why pay for an AI assistant if the information is already on my website?
Your website holds the information. An AI assistant gives customers another way to find it: they ask a question in their own words and get guidance based on your approved business information.
Think of it as a helpful guide to your website
A customer might ask, “I’m picking up coffee for eight people tomorrow morning. How do I order?” Instead of looking through your menu, opening hours, and pickup instructions, they can ask once. The assistant explains your published ordering process and links them to your ordering page.
It does not confirm tomorrow’s stock, accept an order, or promise availability. Those actions need a connection to your live systems and are scoped separately.
What could it help with?
- Finding answers faster: Customers can ask about hours, location, menu options, pickup instructions, or membership benefits.
- Connecting the details: The assistant can bring related information together, such as how to place an order and when pickup is available.
- Handling common questions: It can respond while your team is busy or your shop is closed, which may reduce repetitive enquiries.
- Taking the next step: It can point customers to ordering, directions, or your contact form.
What are you paying for?
The $250 one-time setup covers branding, preparing your approved business information, installation, answer testing, and launch.
The $49 monthly fee covers one website and one location, hosting, 500 AI replies per month, maintenance, one batch of minor content updates per month, and up to 15 minutes of monthly support. One AI reply means one generated answer, not an entire conversation.
Grow plus the assistant is $148 per month for one location, with the setup fee paid separately. Paid customer memberships are a different optional add-on; you do not need them to use the assistant.
We agree on what happens at your reply limit before launch. Additional locations, larger usage allowances, live inventory, order tracking, membership balances, custom booking workflows, and document search are quoted separately.
Do you actually need it?
If your website is simple and customers rarely ask questions, you may not need this add-on. A useful starting point is a short pilot: review the questions customers ask, whether they follow links to ordering, and whether your staff notice fewer routine enquiries. Agree on the pilot’s scope and charges before starting.
We do not promise more sales or fewer calls. The goal is easier customer service, and the results should determine whether it is worth keeping.
The assistant uses your approved content, but it can make mistakes. Questions about allergies or uncertain ingredients should be confirmed with your staff.
What is RAG, and why is it worth it for a larger business?
Your business knows a lot. RAG helps people find the right part of that knowledge when they need it. Instead of asking customers or staff to search through pages, product guides, and policy documents, give them an assistant they can ask in plain language.
What does RAG mean?
RAG stands for retrieval-augmented generation. Think of it as giving your AI assistant a searchable business library. When someone asks a question, the system searches your approved information, retrieves relevant passages, and uses them to help compose an answer. Source links or references let the person check where the answer came from.
Who is it designed for?
RAG is especially useful for larger businesses: a grocery business with many stores, a retailer with an extensive product catalog, or a company with detailed service and operating procedures. The need comes from the amount and complexity of your information. A smaller business with a large document collection can benefit too.
A single coffee shop with a short menu and a handful of FAQs may be better served by our basic AI Website Assistant. You do not need to pay for document search when a simple assistant is enough.
A real-world example: a growing grocery business
Imagine a grocery business with 20 stores, different pickup policies, department guides, and a large collection of product information. A customer asks, “How do I arrange a large bakery order at the downtown store, and what is the pickup process?”
The assistant can find the approved bakery-order guide and that store’s pickup instructions, explain the steps, and link to the relevant ordering or enquiry page. The customer gets guidance without browsing several documents or asking staff to find each detail.
A separate staff assistant could help employees find an approved return procedure or department checklist. Private staff documents need sign-in and permission checks so customers cannot access them. An internal assistant and those access controls are scoped separately from the starting public-website package.
What makes the investment valuable?
- Less time spent searching: People can ask a specific question instead of working through folders and long documents.
- More consistent guidance: Answers draw from your approved information, with references people can review.
- More capacity for your team: Routine information requests may need less manual attention, leaving staff more time for customers and exceptions.
- Easier knowledge updates: Updated source material can be reprocessed into the searchable library without rewriting every possible answer. Refresh timing is agreed before launch.
- A clearer customer journey: The assistant can explain the relevant process and guide people to the correct form, department, or ordering page.
What does the price include?
Setup starts at $1,000. It covers reviewing and preparing approved content, configuring the searchable knowledge base, adding the chat interface and source references, and testing representative questions before launch.
The starting $199 monthly package covers one public website assistant, one knowledge base, up to 100 text-based documents within an agreed total size limit, and 1,000 AI replies per month. It includes hosting, retrieval and AI usage within that allowance, monitoring, maintenance, one scheduled content refresh per month, and up to 30 minutes of minor support.
The chat assistant is included in RAG, so you do not also pay the $49 basic assistant fee. With one Grow location, your starting monthly service subtotal is $298, plus setup from $1,000.
This is a scoped starting package, not a fixed price for an entire store network. Large catalogs, scanned documents, frequent updates, extra usage, private employee access, additional assistants, and custom integrations receive a separate quote. We agree the size limit, update process, and usage-limit behaviour before starting.
How can you judge whether it pays for itself?
Look at the work it can help your team avoid. For illustration, saving 10 staff hours in a month at a labour value of $25 per hour represents $250 of staff capacity. That could help justify a $199 monthly add-on, but it does not automatically mean $250 of cash savings and does not include setup or your team’s content-review time.
Start with a focused pilot. Measure useful answers, time spent finding information, requests handed to staff, and ongoing costs. Keep or expand it when the results support the investment. We do not guarantee labour savings, sales increases, or a particular return.
What should you expect from it?
RAG helps ground answers in your information, but it can still make mistakes. Its usefulness depends on accurate sources, appropriate access, and regular updates. Uncertain questions should go to your team.
Live stock, current prices, order status, and member balances require connections to the relevant business systems. RAG alone does not supply live data or authorize transactions. Those connections are scoped separately.
